Pimai Salt Co., Ltd. will organize the exhibition of rock salt cavern surveillance by sonar survey with the support of the Department of Basic Industry and Mining, Ministry of Industry. Sonar survey tools along with a team of specialists from SOCON Sonar control Kavernenvermessung GmbH and Kavernen Bau-und Betriebe-GmbH of the Federation Republic of Germany, will be presented at the mining site of the company located at No. 146 Moo 3 Taladkae-Pimai Road, Tambol Krabeungyai, Amphoe Pimai, Nakhornratchasima 30110 during May 08th to May 17 th, 2008.
Sonar Survey using an ultrasonic tool is performed to inspect the cavern configuration and to measure other associated dimensions such as the cavern height, width, etc.? The application of the advanced modern ultrasonic technology and tool leads? to the knowledge of the possible discrepancy of the real cavern shape which is developed step by step, and the shape of the predicted cavern based on the test results of chemical and physical characteristics of the rock salt in situ and its geology.
